This short, quirky picture book surprised me, and made me laugh. It tells the story of a man who feels misunderstood, unusual, a little extravagant and unique, exotic and weird. He feels that the world is a bit too complicated. Sometimes he feels like all eyes are on him, sometimes he feels invisible, neither is quite right. He wants to show his emotions, but isn’t quite sure how.  In the end, he finds he does have one thing in common with everyone else (or at least everyone). I liked this book because it speaks to a feeling that many of us have had at some point in time, as well as highlighting how the world feels for people with neurodiversity much of the time. It is also a Buddhist story of dependent origination- or our universal interconnectedness. Suitable for everybody!
