Over recent years, I have seen more and more kids presenting with anxiety about climate change and the planet. It has become a personal challenge to help them make sense of their worries – to not become overwhelmed or frozen, but to turn their fear into meaningful action. This is the first book I have read that does just this. Cocos Fire validates and normalises climate worries, while giving children skills and strategies to calm their nervous systems before offering practical ways to act. The book provides readers with a sense of agency and control, which we know is key to alleviating fear and worry. Suitable for children aged 4 and up.
