Being kind to yourself is one of the greatest kindnesses’ said the Mole.

This book was recently gifted to me by a dear friend. It is a story about friendships, overcoming obstacles, and growing older. Written as a series of stanzas, it recounts a conversation between four friends. There are so many messages I love in this book and layers of meaning that are uncovered with each read. I think the best summary is in the character’s own words:

‘When the darkness comes, keep going. When the big things feel out of control, focus on what you love right under your nose.’
