I read this book for the first time recently and found it equal parts enlightening, helpful, and funny. Following the day of Simon (aka Moody Cow), the story shows how small irritations in a day can build up to sully one’s mood and lead to angry actions. With the help of his meditation cushion and a visual analogy of a glitter jar that represents angry thoughts, Moody Cow is encouraged to sit with his feelings until they settle. This sweet story manages to normalise and validate kids, while also giving actionable steps to deal with a “bad mood day”. Suitable for children aged 4 to 12.
